Wainhouse Terrace looking towards Sowerby BridgeJohn Edward Wainhouse, as well as being responsible for Wainhouse Tower, also built housing at Wainhouse Terrace, between the Rochdale and Burnley Roads, Halifax. He created a terrace of back-to-back houses with underdwellings, linked by a 200ft (61 m) balcony with colonnade. The houses were demolished for redevelopment in 1972, but the gallery is still standing in March 2005 although highly vandalised
